If I was to ask anyone what is the recording software of choice for step sequencing they would inevitably say Fruity Loops (or the new grown up name FL Studio). I remember seeing thier adds whenI got my first recording magazine many years ago. The fruity Loops that I knew back then has now developed into a real contender for the DAW marketplace, especially in the electronic music scene. Although in its inception it was nothing more than a powerful step sequencer and soft synth, it now has a wave edito and much more. Like thier website states " FL Studio is the most complete virtual studio currently available. It will play any sample file (wav), generator (softsynth), VSTi & DXi) or midi instrument you feed it. You will be creating wav, mp3 or midi songs or loops only minutes after launching it."
Staying true to the trend of modern DAW's, FL Studio also has a bunch of different versions with different pices and features. I was thinking of explaining all the diferences in this review but thier are so many I am instaed going to link you to the websites overview of the different versions. Click here to see them. I must say I am impressed by all the softsynths and plugins included with the FL studio. Like I said in previous reviews if you are not hung up on more nominal brand names and want real value for your money look into FL Studio or Sonar and I can almost garuntee you will not be dissapointed.
